Structural Designer; Technician

At Jacobs, we are expanding our team in Ireland, offering the opportunity to work on high‑complexity projects in semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated, early‑to‑mid‑level designer who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment and can deliver quality design deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.

• Production and editing of 3D models using Revit and Navisworks Simulate
• Clash detection within complex models across multiple disciplines
• Manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals
• Coordinate and collaborate in real time with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil, architectural and process to develop designs
• Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader or sub‑leader and coordinate with multi‑discipline designers
• Ensure compliance with detailing standards for structures in steel, concrete and masonry in accordance with BS, EN, and international codes
• Use a wide range of Revit & CAD to produce quality design deliverables
• Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans
• Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities
• Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents and update 3D models, drawings and documents as required

• National Certificate, Diploma or Ordinary Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (FETAC Level 6/7 minimum)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering draughting and modelling
• Good knowledge of Irish Standards, Eurocode, and international codes (US and India codes are a bonus)
• Experience with 3D modelling software

• Strong relevant engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sectors or large‑scale industrial projects
• Designer experience in reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, foundations
• A proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to adapt to changing scenarios
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels
