Graduate Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist

- Desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and geomorphological mapping
- Contribute to the design, planning and procurement of ground investigations
- Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork
- Geological interpretation and preparation of interpretative reports
- Analysis of geotechnical data, preparation of ground models, design and reporting on foundations, retaining walls, soil slope stability, earthworks, rock slope stabilisation
- Use of digital software including Open ground and Leapfrog for data management and 3D geological modelling
- Develop analysis and modelling skills using 2D and 3D numerical packages
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology/Geology, with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
- Advanced degree (MSc/MEng) in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D desirable
- Previous experience in geotechnical work preferred but not essential
- Willing to pursue professional qualifications through ICE, IOM3 or The Geological Society
- Demonstrated interest in geotechnical projects and promotion of geotechnical activities with clients
- Flexible and willing to work away from home, at sites and occasionally in other offices
- Motivated to meet client and business expectations, considering financial and commercial implications
- Effective communicator with colleagues, internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing
- Capability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team
- Ability to work independently without losing initiative & focus
- Right to work in the UK
