The Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice of AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is looking to expand their technical expertise, work on a diverse range of projects, and develop their career within a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of projects across multiple sectors, including water and wastewater, energy, environment, nuclear, maritime infrastructure, and more.
As part of a growing and collaborative team, you will work alongside experienced engineers and specialists across disciplines and locations to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions for our clients. We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week being office/site based. This position is based in our Glasgow office.

As an Electrical Engineer in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of innovative engineering solutions across multiple sectors as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Develop technical expertise through the preparation of engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Support the design and development of electrical systems and infrastructure, taking on increasing responsibility as your skills and experience grow.
- Provide technical and project guidance to graduates and apprentices, supporting their development and contributing to successful project delivery.
- Attendance and participation in client meetings, design reviews, and project workshops.
- Gain valuable project experience through site surveys, inspections, assessments, and construction-stage support activities, helping to deliver high-quality outcomes.

- Actively contribute to our Technical Networks and knowledge-sharing communities, helping to build capability, share best practice, and support colleagues across the wider national team.
The ideal candidate would be a well-rounded and versatile individual who exemplifies the following key skills and attributes:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Working towards Chartership or Incorporated Engineer or newly Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information to colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to an inclusive and supportive working environment.
- Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop professionally, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Experience with in an engineering consultancy, contractor, client, or owner-operator organisation is essential. We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in water, utilities, manufacturing, maritime, energy or defence sectors.
- Open to occasional travel for site visits, surveys, client meetings, and project workshops, providing opportunities to broaden experience and develop professional relationships.
