Are you looking for a new challenge, job security and excellent, proper hybrid working options? A large, specialist Engineering Contractor are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for long term work within the Water sector in Central Scotland. Deliver commercial leadership on major projects and frameworks by managing contracts, risk and negotiation to achieve agreed profitability and cashflow. You'll work closely with project leaders and commercial management while helping to capture and share commercial knowledge across the wider team.

This is the chance to be part of a stable commercial team that needs to grow due to several, high profile project wins. There are also various routes to progress into MQS and Commercial Lead roles in the future and due to the nature of the essential infrastructure work, your job security is excellent. The role :

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of contract administration and commercial management to support successful project delivery. The role exists to ensure robust control of costs, risks and change, and to protect the organisation's contractual and commercial position. You'll also play a key part in sharing best practice across the project team and supporting other staff with commercial input.

What you'll be doing :

- Communicating and liaising with the systems sub-contractor on commercial and contractual matters.

- Advising the project team on contractual issues and commercial risk.

- Ensuring commercial compliance across current contracts and protecting the company's position.

- Assisting senior staff in pricing variations across all scopes, not just mechanical and electrical.

- Managing cost control and supporting monthly project cost and progress reports, including work in progress.

- Supporting the wider team on subcontract life cycles, including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, work package management and final accounts.

What we're looking for :

- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

- Previous experience with NEC contracts, specifically NEC3 or NEC4 option

C.

- Demonstrable negotiation and presentation skills.

- Ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise to deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

- Excellent time management, organisational ability and problem-solving skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex information to varied audiences.

- Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
