Senior Structural Designer

About The Role

Optimus Plus are now looking for an experienced Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time, on-going contract basis.

We are seeking candidates with significant experience in the offshore oil and gas energy sector, ideally with knowledge of the North sea assets and brownfield oil and gas projects. Previous experience of concept and detailed design is essential.

• Creates and checks engineering designs
• Responsible for ensuring designs meet project requirements
• Input to project plans
• Identify areas of concern during any project or study
• Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
• Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
• Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore (not essential)

We’d like you to have a HND in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design with an awareness of other disciplines. You need to be competent and have an interest in working with Auto Desk design products. There will be the opportunity to work in other locations, both on and offshore so candidates may need you to travel and hold the relevant certification to do so.
