The role

As a Civil Delivery Engineer within our GB South Operational Portfolio, you'll play a key role in managing the civil infrastructure that supports some of the UK's most strategically important renewable energy assets across Scotland and England. Operating across a diverse portfolio of onshore wind farms, solar developments and battery storage sites, you'll ensure our civil assets remain safe, reliable and fit for the future.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Asset Management and external contractors, you'll lead the delivery of civil maintenance, refurbishment and asset integrity programmes across sites throughout the Central Belt and wider GB South region. You'll provide technical expertise throughout the asset lifecycle, helping to maximise performance, extend asset life and support future investment, repowering and development opportunities across the portfolio.

You Will Lead the safe and effective management of civil assets across onshore wind, solar and battery sites, ensuring maintenance, defect resolution and engineering activities are delivered in line with health, safety and environmental legislation and industry best practice.

Manage the integrity and performance of a wide range of civil infrastructure including wind turbine foundations, access tracks, drainage systems, retaining structures, culverts, hard standings and associated balance of plant infrastructure, identifying risks and implementing effective engineering solutions that support safe and reliable operation.

Deliver civil engineering projects from specification through to completion, including contractor and contract management, refurbishment, repair, replacement, decommissioning and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring quality, safety and value for money.

Provide technical support to operational teams by responding to reactive issues, monitoring asset health, developing proactive maintenance strategies and driving innovative engineering solutions that improve safety, reliability and operational performance.

Develop and manage maintenance and project budgets, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicate technical and safety improvements across the business, and support long-term planning for asset life extension, repowering and decommissioning.

You Have This role would suit a Civil Engineer, Graduate Engineer or Engineering Technician with equivalent practical experience who is looking to develop their career within one of the UK's leading renewable energy businesses. You'll have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of operational assets while contributing to significant maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects.

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience within infrastructure, construction, utilities, energy or renewable generation environments.

Experience managing civil engineering assets, maintenance programmes, engineering projects and contractors, with a strong understanding of asset integrity, contract management and project delivery.

Knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, with the ability to undertake technical, safety and environmental risk assessments working sometimes at height and in restricted spaces.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across operational teams, contractors, suppliers and external partners while influencing technical decisions at all levels.

A proactive and innovative approach to engineering, with excellent organisational skills, the ability to work independently and remotely, and experience managing budgets, identifying continuous improvement opportunities and delivering operational outcomes.

While based in Scotland, the role will also involve occasional travel to other remote operational sites across the country (Shetland & Orkney Islands) UK & Ireland. Occasional overnight stays will be expected as part of this role so a full and valid driving licence will be essential.
