This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career sustainability professional who wants to specialise in embodied carbon, Whole Life Carbon Assessment and Life Cycle Assessment within the built environment.

You will work alongside experienced sustainability specialists on a varied portfolio of projects, helping clients understand and reduce the carbon impact of buildings throughout their lifecycle.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of Whole Life Carbon Assessments and Life Cycle Assessments.
  • Calculating the embodied carbon associated with building materials, construction processes and building-services systems.
  • Gathering, reviewing and interpreting project data.
  • Using carbon-assessment software, databases and Environmental Product Declarations.
  • Comparing materials and design options to identify carbon-reduction opportunities.
  • Producing clear technical reports, calculations and presentations.
  • Supporting the preparation of circular-economy and sustainability statements.
  • Working collaboratively with architects, engineers, contractors and wider design teams.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant industry standards, planning policies and carbon guidance.
About You

We would like to hear from candidates who have:

  • A relevant degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, building services, architecture, construction, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
  • An understanding of embodied carbon, WLCA or LCA principles.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • An organised and methodical approach.
  • A genuine interest in reducing the environmental impact of the built environment.

Experience using One Click LCA or similar carbon-assessment software would be beneficial, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with relevant academic knowledge who are keen to develop their practical experience.

What’s on Offer
  • A salary of up to £40,000, depending on experience.
  • Structured training and professional development.
  • Support from an experienced sustainability team.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of building projects.
  • Opportunities to develop expertise in WLCA, LCA, embodied carbon and circular economy.
  • Genuine long-term career progression within a growing consultancy.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
