Scope Change Manager – Offshore Energy Project

Location: Glasgow – Hybrid option

Sector: Offshore Energy / HV Infrastructure

Employment Type: Permanent

Turner Lovell is supporting a major international engineering and energy organisation that is expanding its UK project delivery capability following the award of a significant offshore energy infrastructure programme.

As the project moves into delivery, our client is looking for a Scope Change Manager to join its growing Project Controls function in Glasgow.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the scope and change control process on a major UK offshore project
, working across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, offshore installation, commissioning and commercial teams.

The Role

As Scope Change Manager, you will ensure that changes to the approved project scope are properly identified, assessed, costed, approved and incorporated into the project baseline
.

You will work closely with Project Controls, Engineering, Planning, Commercial and project leadership to understand the full impact of proposed changes across cost, schedule, risk, contractual obligations and project delivery
.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing the project's scope change management process
    .
  • Maintaining the change register and ensuring changes follow the appropriate governance and approval process.
  • Coordinating cost, schedule, technical and risk impact assessments.
  • Challenging incomplete or unsupported change requests.
  • Supporting and facilitating change review meetings.
  • Ensuring approved changes are incorporated into project budgets, schedules and baselines.
  • Monitoring cumulative change exposure and supporting project forecasting and reporting.
  • Working with commercial teams on contractor variations, change orders and claims.
  • Coordinating stakeholders across engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation and commissioning.
  • Providing clear change reporting to senior project leadership.
Your Background

You should ideally have:

  • 5+ years' professional experience within engineering, energy, infrastructure or major capital projects.
  • At least 2 years' experience within change/change control or significant responsibility for project changes.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost and schedule management
    .
  • Experience with scope changes, variations, change orders and/or claims.
  • An engineering, planning or related project delivery background.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.

    The confidence to challenge project teams and contractors while maintaining a collaborative approach.

Experience with in offshore wind, subsea, marine, HV/HVDC transmission, power cables, substations or major infrastructure projects would be particularly valuable.
