About the OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced RPA and operational RP practitioner to become part of a multi-disciplined team of Engineers, Designers and Safety Case authors. The team are all working together to design a new facility. Your role will require regular interaction with design teams, subcontractors and process engineers, providing advice on Radiological Protection and Operational Health physics requirements that the design must accommodate to function effectively.
The design must meet and where possible exceed regulatory requirements, it will accommodate Best Industry Practice and utilise Best Available Techniques to produce a design that can meet future production requirements with an operational risk to workers and the environment that is demonstrably ALARP.
Opportunities will exist to challenge historical practices, introducing efficiencies and technically underpinned design improvements that further reduce radiological risk. The flexible structure of the project will allow a successful candidate to influence strategic decisions at both the project and client level through ongoing interactions with both appointed RPAs and the Client RPA body.
