Geotechnical Engineer

As investment in Scotland's infrastructure and energy networks continues to grow, we're expanding our Geotechnical Engineering team in Glasgow to support a strong pipeline of projects across the renewable energy, transportation, water, flood protection, and power sectors.

Our Geotechnical Engineering team provides specialist expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and ground investigations through to detailed design and construction support.

Following continued growth across our Scottish and Northern Ireland businesses, we are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Glasgow office.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and collaborative engineer to work on a diverse range of projects while developing technical expertise, building client relationships, and contributing to the delivery of sustainable infrastructure solutions that support communities and the UK's net-zero ambitions.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will support the delivery of geotechnical engineering projects across a range of sectors, including renewables, energy transmission, transportation, water, and flood protection.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in all stages of project delivery, including site feasibility assessments, planning and supervising ground investigations, geotechnical interpretation, design development, reporting, and construction supervision. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical outputs while ensuring projects are completed in line with programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

You will prepare a variety of technical documents including Desk Studies, Ground Investigation Reports, Geotechnical Interpretative Reports, Geotechnical Design Reports, specifications, and construction drawings. You will also undertake site visits and inspections, providing technical support throughout the construction phase and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.

The role offers the opportunity to work independently while also contributing to wider project teams, collaborating with colleagues across multiple disciplines to develop practical and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

You will play an important role in delivering the geotechnical solutions that underpin major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Scotland and the wider UK.

Success in this role will be measured through your ability to deliver technically robust solutions, support project teams, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute positively to project outcomes. In the short term, you will develop your understanding of our projects, clients, and working practices while providing technical support on active schemes. Over time, you will take increasing responsibility for project delivery, client engagement, and contributing to the continued growth of our geotechnical capability.
