A paid position as freelance staff at Sequential Scotland, Glasgow’s independent comic convention. Sequential Scotland is a comic convention returning for its second year at the Double Tree Hilton on Cambridge Street, Glasgow on Saturday 8th August 2026. Our event has a particular focus on indie comics and small presses and showcasing the amazing work they’re making.

Hourly rate: £13.50 per hour

Total number of hours: 11

Deliveries: 07/08/2026 – 08/08/2026 (2 hours induction on 07/08/2026 and 9 hours on 08/08/2026)

• Greeting festival guests and providing festival information
• Signposting to utilities, giving directions and acting as a general point of contact for enquiries
• Assisting exhibitors and guest speakers where required
• Processing cash and card transactions
• Staffing our Community Table for artists who are not able to attend in person
• Upholding Health and Safety procedures and Safeguarding Policy for event
• Providing an overall friendly, enthusiastic and attentive welcome to complement the festival’s ethos of accessibility and inclusivity for all in the independent comic community
• Carrying out other duties as reasonably expected of the post

• Approachable, outgoing and reliable
• Strong communication skills
• Effective multi‑tasking
• Able to recognise when to seek further assistance for a query
• Experience of sales and/or cash handling is desirable but not necessary
• An interest in comics or illustration is advantageous but not necessary

As this is a freelance role you will be required to log your hours and submit your own tax return to HMRC.
