CONTRACT TYPE:
Full time. Fixed-term Contract until 26/03/2027. There will be occasional requirements to work weekends and unsocial hours.

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £29,500 - £38,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Production Coordinator plays a key role in bringing productions to life by managing schedules, logistics, running costs and communications. The role combines organisation, problem-solving and teamwork to ensure productions run efficiently from planning through to delivery. The successful candidate will also provide support managing assets for the department and providing general administration support. There may be a requirement to work on content from other BBC Scotland departments.

YOUR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Organise travel and accommodation for crew, presenters, external suppliers and contributors for filming.
  • Raise Smartbooks/Requisition s and Purchase orders for production spend and ensuring running costs are updated and accurate.
  • Liaise with BBC departments to ensure Studio, Craft and Post-production personnel are booked and kept informed of all planned and any schedule changes for filming.
  • Ensure Albert documentation is collected and delivered on time and making sure the production is as sustainable as possible
  • Complete Post-Production paperwork using Silver mouse
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven organisational and forward-planning skills, with experience of working effectively within dynamic teams.
  • Demonstrable IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel, together with experience of learning new systems quickly.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end production process across multiple platforms, with knowledge of the technology, systems and workflows used to support productions.
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgement to resolve issues and escalation where appropriate.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines and changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced events, studio productions and Outside Broadcasts (OBs).
  • Experience of BBC systems, including Smart Book and Ariba, would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and propose new ways of working to enhance existing processes.

There will be occasional requirements to work weekends and unsocial hours.
