Overview of Role A qualified and experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the monthly management accounts and management reporting packs, delivering clear, insightful financial information to senior stakeholders. Lead a small team, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive continuous improvement across management reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Responsibility for all Loganair Management and Board financial reporting
- Delivery of the Month End process to strict timelines including production of the Management Accounts pack for circulation to Board and Ex Com
- Adherence to all Loganair and statutory reporting requirements and deadlines
- Presentation of financial performance, trends, and insights to senior leadership, to support effective decision-making.
- Communication of Balance Sheet risks materialising due to standard costing methodology
- Embed improved reporting processes as developed by FP&A Manager
- Develop and maintain high-quality management reports, dashboards, and analyses that provide meaningful commercial insight.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small management reporting team, building capability and embedding best practice.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective financial outputs.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, control, and the quality of management reporting.
- Ensure strong review and control of financial data, investigating and explaining variances and key drivers of performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking activities as required.
- Ensure issues and solutions are identified promptly, communicated to the appropriate level and resolution monitored.
- Represent finance in any Departmental management meetings and for any projects being carried out across the Business.
- Present at meetings as and when required.
- Assist with special Finance projects in support of key corporate initiatives as defined by the Board.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Commercial Finance, Head of Financial Reporting and/or Chief Financial Officer.
- Airline experience desirable but not essential
- Experience leading or developing a small finance team.
- Strong experience producing management accounts and management reporting in a complex organisation.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insight.
- Demonstrated experience improving reporting processes and implementing change.
- Professionally qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant PQE gained in a similar environment desirable.
- Minimum PQE 3-5 years
- Comfortable working on an integrated accounting package together with a detailed knowledge of core office systems – Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, under pressure and liaising with multiple senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, balanced with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to challenge and influence.
- Interpersonal skills - Ability to build relationships at all levels; assess own strengths and weaknesses; pursue training and development opportunities.
- Communication and influencing – Strong influencing and relationship building skills. Can adjust style and language to meet the needs of the audience; reviews work for accuracy and relevance; presents data effectively and in an understandable format.
- Ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines. Strong focus on delivering assigned objectives in a timely & efficient manner. Good levels of resilience and energy to lead by example.
- Takes responsibility for own actions; delivers on agreed actions and commitments; keeps stakeholders informed of progress.
- Demonstrates company values and behaviours at all times, is proactive by nature and embraces a culture of respect at all levels.
