Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Manager for the Lat Am team in the Glasgow office. Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is desirable but not essential.

As part of the Shared Service Centre for Reconciliations, you will manage a team of Onshore and Offshore members and report to the Head of Finance Shared Service Delivery. Your responsibilities include ensuring the completion of the reconciliation process on the Blackline system in line with the Global Policy, working with a variety of Lat Am regions’ local finance areas to complete finance reconciliation processes and acting as a key point of contact for both local finance areas and the Offshore team.

The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with strong communication and analytical skills, a sound understanding of Excel, relevant finance experience, and will be assertive in following up and seeking resolution of queries and issues. Strong communication skills are a must.

Balance Sheet Control
  • Understand Global Accounting Policy and ensure it is adhered to; assist COG local contacts in their understanding of the Policy.
  • Manage the Quality Control process ensuring reconciliations are in line with Global Policy requirements.
  • Understand the purpose and content of the reconciliations and data flows and be able to articulate to senior managers.
  • Ensure regional protocols are adhered to.
  • Work with the local finance management team and FCU to resolve queries and clear aged open items.
  • Log data issues on the Reconciliations Data Issue Register.
  • Assist and escalate to all local contacts/stakeholders as required.
BPO Oversight Control
  • Ensure tasks are carried out by the offshore team within agreed SLAs.
  • Determine SLAs and ensure methods for measuring are aligned with the core purpose.
  • Support the Offshore team to enhance both reconciliation and underlying processes.
  • Oversee and control transitioned processes, with potential visits to other sites to ensure cohesive working relationships.
  • Perform regular quality assurance checks on outsourced processes.
  • Review BPO team standard operating procedures.
Communication With External Groups
  • Communicate with local offices on discussions during project processes and BAU.
  • Work with third‑party outsource rs to ensure delivery of accounting processes.
  • Take account of cultural differences that affect processes and overall approach.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within Lat Am entities and promote them across the wider business.
  • Work with local and offshore teams to operate efficiently and identify opportunities to create capacity.
Projects
  • Be involved in projects that flow through the team; completing test scripts, performing UAT, and providing sign‑off.
Management
  • Responsible for people management: resourcing, training and development, performance management, employee engagement and absence management.
  • Ensure team tasks are prioritized and aligned with broader Glasgow team goals.

Qualifications
  • Qualified by relevant experience.
  • Accountancy qualification is desirable.
  • Fluent in English (Essential);
    Spanish, Portuguese (Desirable).
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles.
  • Financial services or insurance experience is desirable.
