Assistant Accountant​/Bookkeeper

This opportunity is with a well-established Engineering businesses based in Glasgow. The company is a medium-sized business, offering a structured and professional environment within the accounting and finance sector.

Job Description

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Ownership of sales ledger and credit control processes
• Raising and processing customer invoices and monitoring debtor balances
• Purchase ledger oversight including accruals and prepayments
• Completion of regular bank reconciliations
• Processing payroll and liaising with external providers where required
• Supporting cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
• Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and systems

The Successful Applicant

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Bookkeeper role
• Comfortable producing or supporting monthly management accounts
• Strong working knowledge of bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
• Payroll experience is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
• Confident communicator, able to work with operational and finance stakeholders
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems
