- Manage and own the financial records of all Group companies – currently UK, Australia, US, Singapore, Netherlands and Serbia.
- Ensure Group accounting policies comply with GAAP.
- Preparation and finalisation of P&L, Balance Sheet, Consolidation and Cash Flow reconciliations on a monthly basis to an audit‑ready standard.
- Deliver monthly analysis of actuals versus budget, identifying key variances and providing clear, actionable commentary to support decision‑making.
- Participate actively in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Business partner with budget holders across the organisation, building strong relationships, providing financial insight and helping non‑finance stakeholders understand and manage their cost base.
- Prepare monthly detailed financial reporting packs at a group consolidated basis for discussion and review with Finance management.
- Own the payroll function across the Group, partnering with local advisors to ensure timely and accurate processing, reconciliations and statutory submissions in each jurisdiction.
- Lead the fieldwork and accounts preparation aspect of the annual Group audit process and be a daily point of contact for audit queries.
- Own the Financial Statements and Annual Report preparation process with local advisors in subsidiary locations and ensure that all statutory filings are made within relevant deadlines.
- Prepare and submit VAT, Corporate and other tax returns, as well as work with advisors in subsidiary locations on local VAT, tax and corporate reporting matters.
- Be an advocate for finance best practice and policies, and use prior experience to build and implement these.
- Support the Financial Controller with ad‑hoc duties as required.
- Contribute toward building a best‑in‑class modern Finance function and any other duties and responsibilities assigned or delegated to you from time to time within your skills, qualifications and competencies.
- A qualified accountant.
- Systems experience:
Xero experience preferable but not essential; ability to learn new systems and understand how they can link and feed to one another is essential. - Attention to detail and ability to analyse and reconcile large and complex data sets in multiple currencies.
- Commercial mindset: ensuring accounting records reflect the true commercial reality of our business.
- Experience working in a deadline‑driven environment and a proven track record of excellent time management.
- Independent research skills: ability to problem‑solve and find answers is essential.
- All‑hands‑on‑deck mentality – work as part of a team, sometimes this means working on areas that don't necessarily fall within your remit.
- Experience working in a global role – you will touch US, UK, Australia, Serbia, Singapore and the Netherlands. You don't need to be an expert in those regions, but the ability to adapt and switch between them is important.
