We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance and Business Planning team. This is a varied role supporting both month-end management accounting and the preparation and delivery of annual financial statements across Sportscotland’s three legal entities.

In this role, you will support the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring financial information is clear, robust and useful for decision‑making. You will coordinate the month-end close process, maintain strong financial controls, and provide technical accounting support to colleagues across the organisation.

You will also play a key role in year-end financial reporting, including preparation of statutory accounts, supporting audit processes and acting as a key contact for external auditors.

We are looking for a professionally qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge of IFRS and public sector accounting frameworks (e.g. FReM, SPFM). You will bring experience of both financial statements and month-end processes, along with strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Experience working with external auditors, supporting financial controls, and contributing to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes would be beneficial.
