Role Overview

As a Private Client Tax Partner you will lead and grow the firm’s private client tax practice across Glasgow and the wider region. You will oversee a sophisticated portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices, providing tailored, insightful guidance on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and estate planning. In this senior position you will act as the trusted advisor on the most complex and sensitive client matters, building deep, lasting relationships through exceptional technical expertise and a highly personal approach.

Alongside advisory duties you will drive practice growth through proactive networking and strategic business development, strengthening the firm’s profile and securing new opportunities. You will mentor and inspire junior colleagues, support their progression, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. Working closely with other service lines you will ensure clients benefit from fully integrated, holistic solutions that reflect every dimension of their financial affairs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and expand the private client tax practice across Glasgow and the wider region.
  • Oversee a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices.
  • Provide expert advice on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and long‑term estate planning.
  • Act as the trusted advisor on complex and sensitive client matters.
  • Drive growth through proactive networking, business development, and practice promotion.
  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated, holistic solutions for clients.
Qualifications
  • Recognised professional qualification such as CTA or ACA/ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Substantial senior‑level experience within private client tax.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex tax matters.
  • Proven track record of managing sophisticated client relationships.
  • Strong leadership style with ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team.
  • Commercial awareness and proactive business‑development approach.
