Financial Accountant — Inverclyde. Our client is recruiting a permanent Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

The role is based in Inverclyde, with a Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm schedule and a hybrid working model: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. The office is conveniently located near a train station and offers on‑site parking.

• Prepare and post journals and support the month‑end close process
• Perform and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements
• Support external and internal audit processes and ensure audit readiness
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the finance function
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records across the general ledger

• Previous experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting standards
• Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Confident using Excel and finance systems/ERP tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
• Proactive mindset with ability to improve processes and work collaboratively
