Manager, Business Advisory – Glasgow

Job Purpose:

We are looking to recruit a Manager to work closely with our Client Relationship Managers, responsible for completing and reviewing work from an allocated portfolio of clients across a wide variety of sectors, including food & drink, rural, technology, oil & gas, and construction.

• Plan and manage the timely and profitable completion of a portfolio of client work, which may include year‑end and management accounts, corporate and personal tax returns, VAT returns, budgets and forecasts; liaise with Client Relationship Managers and specialists where required.
• Review work from assistants and seniors, providing feedback and coaching.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contacts and colleagues.
• Engage and consult actively with our specialists, coordinating their involvement in advisory work and identifying cross‑selling opportunities.
• Deal with ad‑hoc client queries, telephone calls and meetings.
• Carry out portfolio‑management duties including client take‑on, fee preparation and WIP/debt management.

• A leader of your own work and professional learning.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
• Relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
• ICAS or ACCA qualification, or equivalent.
• Forward‑thinking, with a strong IT skill set and an appetite for technology.
• Experience using accounts and tax software packages.
• Good working knowledge of clients’ accounting systems.
