Financial Planner | (Glasgow & Edinburgh) | Leading National Wealth Manager
Nigel James Associates are proud to be one of a select few recruitment partners working with one of the UK's leading wealth management businesses to appoint experienced Financial Planners to support their growing presence in Scotland.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a business with an outstanding reputation and a broad, well‑resourced wealth management offering. You will deliver holistic financial planning advice to existing HNW clients, working collaboratively across the wider business, whilst also playing a part in succession planning as senior advisers within the business look towards the future. There is real scope here, with the business considering candidates across a range of seniority levels.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, Chartered Financial Planner (at least Level, DipFS qualified), and have a strong understanding of what it takes to work professionally and effectively within a quality, well‑established wealth management environment. Whether you come from a comparable competitor business or simply have the right calibre, are polished and have strong HNW client experience, we would love to hear from you.
Some candidates will be more focused on proactive new business generation and networking, whilst others may be better suited to a role focused on servicing and developing an existing client base, both are genuinely valued here.
- An experienced Financial Planner, ideally with 5 years' experience or more, with 10 years or more particularly well suited to the more senior opportunities available
- Chartered status is highly desirable, if not working towards becoming Chartered
- Strong experience working with HNW clients, with a natural, polished professionalism that fits a high‑quality, culture‑conscious business
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a wider team in a genuinely supportive environment
- Either a proactive, dynamic networker capable of generating new business, or an experienced planner who excels at supporting and servicing an existing client base — we are keen to hear from both profiles
- A strong commitment to compliance and doing things the right way
- A highly competitive basic salary, dependent on experience and seniority
- A bonus structure reflecting new and existing business generation, company performance and compliance standards
- The opportunity to join one of the UK's leading wealth management businesses at a pivotal time for its presence in Scotland
- Genuine scope for career progression, including succession opportunities as the business continues to grow
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, or you know somebody it might suit, we would be highly keen to have confidential conversations.
