An exceptional opportunity has emerged for an experienced, commercially minded Accountant to join an established, innovative Jenson Fisher client to cover an interim maternity cover contract for an initial period of 12 months. Based in a conveniently accessible area in Glasgow our client are excited to appoint a strong Accountant who can enjoy a handover with the existing post holder and work closely with business management in a hands-on, pro-active manner.
Role OverviewReporting directly to the Directors, the Accountant will assume full control of the financial delivery - including the production of monthly management accounts and overseeing a small team of Accounts Assistants. In addition, you will be tasked with providing key, up to date financial information to the Directors whilst also working closely with colleagues to maximise financial efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities- Production of monthly management accounts, with breakdowns and analysis on key business areas.
- Variance analysis.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
- Liaise with external accountants on statutory accounts, audit, tax and year-end requirements.
- Continuously improve financial processes and controls whilst maximising the use of systems including industry specific software, Sage and Microsoft Excel.
- Provide commercial insight to support decision-making and business planning.
- Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including the accounts payable and receivable work conducted by the accounts assistants alongside payroll and bank management.
- Office management tasks including holiday cover whilst also maintaining all personnel files alongside onboarding and offboarding.
