Anderson Knight is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading international organisation to recruit an FP&A Accountant to support one of its key business units.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware finance professional looking to move into a highly analytical and business acing role. Sitting within the Business Unit Finance team and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a central role in delivering financial planning, performance analysis and decision support to operational leadership.
You’ll be responsible for transforming financial data into meaningful commercial insight, supporting business planning, and helping senior stakeholders understand the financial impact of operational decisions. Working closely with colleagues across finance and operations, you’ll contribute to improving business performance through robust forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
As the FP&A Accountant, you’ll be responsible for providing accurate financial information and forward-looking analysis that enables the business to make informed commercial decisions. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence the financial direction of a growing business unit.
Key Responsibilities- Produce monthly management reports, analysing financial performance and highlighting the key drivers behind business results.
- Coordinate the annual budget, quarterly forecast and rolling forecast processes, ensuring financial plans reflect operational priorities and commercial objectives.
- Deliver detailed variance analysis, providing clear commentary and recommendations to support performance improvement.
- Develop financial models and scenario planning to evaluate strategic initiatives, investment opportunities and operational changes.
- Monitor revenue, margins, overheads and key operational KPIs, identifying trends and areas for enhanced profitability.
- Partner with operational managers to improve financial understanding, support business initiatives and provide insight into commercial performance.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis to support effective financial planning and resource management.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting activities, ensuring financial information is delivered accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Assist with business cases, capital expenditure proposals and investment appraisals through robust financial evaluation.
- Continuously review reporting processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and the quality of financial information.
- Maintain strong financial controls and support compliance with internal governance and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with the wider finance team to deliver ad hoc analysis and support projects that drive operational and commercial performance.
We’re seeking an ambitious accountant who enjoys working with data, partnering with stakeholders and influencing business performance through high-quality financial analysis.
You will bring a commercial mindset, excellent analytical capability and the confidence to communicate financial information clearly to non financial stakeholders.
Qualifications- A recognised full accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW/CA).
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience of financial modelling and analysing large data sets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across operational and finance teams.
- A proactive approach with a genuine interest in improving financial performance and supporting business growth.
