Join a highly respected independent financial planning firm where technical quality, client care and long-term relationships take priority over sales targets.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys producing bespoke recommendations, undertaking complex technical work and working closely with advisers in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Unlike many firms that rely heavily on templates and standardised advice processes, you'll be encouraged to apply your technical expertise and thought process to create tailored client solutions. You'll work closely with experienced advisers and senior support staff, playing an integral role in delivering high quality financial planning advice.

The role would suit someone who is confident, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of their workload while contributing to a close-knit team.

About the firm

Our client is a long-established independent financial planning firm based in Glasgow city centre. They have built an excellent reputation through providing high quality advice and exceptional service to a loyal client base.

The business focuses heavily on servicing existing client relationships rather than operating in a sales-driven environment, allowing the team to concentrate on delivering quality advice and positive client outcomes.

With an experienced team, stable ownership structure and strong reputation within the market, this represents an attractive long-term career opportunity for an ambitious paraplanner looking for a genuine home.

What you'll do

  • Prepare suitability reports and recommendation letters across pensions, investments, protection, trusts and estate planning
  • Conduct technical research to support client recommendations and financial planning strategies
  • Work closely with advisers to deliver tailored financial planning solutions
  • Support ongoing client review work and servicing requirements
  • Produce and maintain detailed spreadsheets, calculations and client planning documentation
  • Maintain accurate client records and workflows
  • Liaise with product providers and obtain information required for advice recommendations
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with regulatory and compliance standards

What you'll need

  • Experience working as a Paraplanner within a financial planning or wealth management environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions and investments
  • Confidence producing high quality suitability reports
  • Good report writing and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills, including creating and manipulating spreadsheets and tables
  • Salary of £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
  • Additional time off over the Christmas and New Year period
  • Long-term career opportunity within an independent firm
  • Friendly and supportive team culture
