Head of Compliance & Operations

IDEX Consulting are partnered with a growing specialist insurance brokerage that advises private equity firms and corporate clients on transactional risk insurance.

The business has experienced significant growth in recent years and is now looking for a Senior Compliance & Operations professional to play a key role in its next stage of development.

This is a great opportunity to join a small, entrepreneurial team where you'll have real ownership and influence. Previously supported by a contractor, the business is looking for someone to become the key point of contact for compliance and operations, working closely with the founders and senior leadership team to build and develop these functions as the business scales.

• Compliance & Regulation: Oversight of the FCA regulatory framework, SMCR, AML/KYC, sanctions, governance and regulatory reporting.
• Operational Development: Improving processes, building scalable infrastructure and identifying innovative ways of working, including the use of technology and AI.
• Insurance Operations: Overseeing insurer agreements, client money (CASS), policy administration and third-party relationships.
• Governance & Leadership Support: Working closely with the Board and leadership team on governance, risk management and the ongoing development of the business.

Its a genuinely hands-on, entrepreneurial role offering the chance to shape the compliance and operational framework of a growing specialist business, rather than stepping into an established corporate structure. You'll have significant autonomy, direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence how the business operates as it continues to expand.

The ideal candidate will have experience within an insurance broker, MGA or similar regulated environment, with a strong understanding of FCA regulation and operational compliance.

• Fully remote, with occasional travel into London.
• Flexible structure, with the opportunity to work part-time or full-time.
• Potential for the role to develop into a formal senior regulatory position as the business grows.
