Position: Assistant Flood Risk Officer (Fixed Term) - GLA15878

Job Description

The opportunity to become a member of the Flood Risk Management team to deliver a Property Flood Resilience scheme to improve climate resilience for residents and businesses in Glasgow.

The role will include:

• the development and implementation of a Property Flood Resilience scheme, including property identification, survey coordination, resident and business liaison, installation planning and post-installation support;

• engagement with householders, businesses, community representatives and internal and external partners to explain flood risk, promote scheme participation and respond to enquiries in a clear and professional manner; and

• general flood risk management duties, including supporting investigations, data gathering, partnership working and responding to flooding enquiries, in line with Council priorities and relevant legislation and guidance.

The post holder will work in a multi-agency environment alongside other Council Services, Scottish Water, SEPA, MGSDP partners, communities, residents, businesses and the Clyde and Loch Lomond Local Plan District Responsible Authorities.

The post holder will also support the wider Flood Risk Management team and report to the Assistant Group Manager.

This post is fixed term for a period up to 2 years.
