Position: Community Staff Nurse (Treatment Room) - Community Nursing

Job Title: Community Staff Nurse (Treatment Room) – Community Nursing

Employer: NHS Ayrshire & Arran (part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde)

Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.

Contract: Fixed term, 18 months. Effective 1 April 2026, all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours per week.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The Treatment Room Service operates within health centres 5 days per week on an appointment basis, prioritising care needs to respond to both planned and unplanned care. You will provide skilled clinical interventions, health education, and health promotion to support patients aged 5 years and over, working in partnership with other primary health care team members. The caseload comes from GP practices or defined geographical populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality, culturally sensitive nursing care in the treatment room.
  • Assess patient needs and respond to planned and unplanned clinical situations.
  • Provide health education, promote independence and safe home environment.
  • Document care accurately and maintain professional standards.
  • Collaborate with GP practices, care team and service users.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and current revalidation evidence.
  • Relevant nursing experience in community or treatment‑room setting preferred.
  • Valid driving licence preferred.
