Occupational Therapist – Community Mental Health Services
Employer – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is a large healthcare system employing around 40,000 staff to deliver acute, primary, community and mental health care to a population of over 1.15 million. This role is a full‑time, permanent post within a multi‑disciplinary Adult Community Mental Health Team. Effective 1 April 2026 the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
Responsibilities – Provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment for individuals and groups residing in south Glasgow; act as key worker to clients with complex mental health difficulties; participate in service developments; recommend interventions to facilitate safe and independent living; support clients through day structure including vocational rehabilitation, leisure access and education; undertake clinical and professional supervision of Occupational Therapy students and staff.
Qualifications – Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration; PVG Scheme membership / Scotland Check disclosure; driving licence desirable; excellent verbal and written communication skills; collaborative clinical style; well‑developed knowledge of care of adults with mental health issues and appropriate interventions.
Professional Development – Receive professional support and supervision from the Lead Occupational Therapist; access appropriate training; maintain continued professional development.
