Senior Business Support Assistant – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) employs about 40,000 staff across clinical and non‑clinical professions. The organization delivers acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to over 1.15 million people, and to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Shift pattern – 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
Duration – fixed term, 23 months.
We are recruiting for the role of Senior Business Support Assistant within the NHSGGC Specialist Children’s Services central management team.
Specialist Children’s Services (SCS) provides clinical services for children and young people with severe, enduring and complex mental health, disability and neuro‑developmental profiles. SCS is hosted by East Dunbartonshire HSCP and is responsible for Specialist Paediatric Services (SCPT), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Specialist Hosted Services across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The post holder will support senior management through efficient provision of a variety of secretarial and administrative duties, working independently for much of the time and demonstrating a clear understanding of NHSGGC SCS services. The role requires a wide administrative experience and the ability to support, encourage and engage with others. Flexibility, the ability to manage a variable workload effectively and resilience under pressure are essential.
Corporate business support experience, previous experience of complaints, HR, eESS and SSTS, and highly developed IT skills are desirable. Working knowledge of NHS organisation and governance procedures and policies is also desirable.

As from 1 st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week
. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, but a corresponding increase in the hourly rate will maintain pay.
