An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to work within the Adult Learning Disability Speech and Language Therapy team in NHS Forth Valley.
The Speech and Language Therapy team in Forth Valley works collaboratively within integrated multidisciplinary learning disability teams across the area, in community and inpatient settings. We are a small SLT team but are experienced, innovative, creative, friendly and caring and look forward to welcoming a band 5 SLT into our team.
The team works in partnership with three local authorities, including health and social care colleagues, third sector care providers and families, delivering quality services across universal, targeted and individualised levels. The successful candidate will work across all these partnerships with primary goals around supporting adults with a learning disability to achieve their communication potential and eat and drink safely and well.
The approach involves delivering training, developing communication environments, and coaching others in communication approaches. You would be expected to develop further skills in eating, drinking and swallowing to be able to support significant needs in this area.
You will receive a high level of professional support, leadership, clinical supervision and training and development from our skilled and talented staff within Forth Valley. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
