Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers.

Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience

  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
  • Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for x-ray services as needed
  • Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly
  • Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use
  • Assist patients who need a wheelchair
Patient Preparation and Rooming
  • Inform technical staff of patient flow
  • Prepare patients for examination, conduct interviews to verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm purpose of visit
  • Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed
  • Conduct point of care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to providers
Administrative
  • Maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files
  • Courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care
  • Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs for equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed
