Advanced Physiotherapist

The closing date is 25 February 2026

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Band 7 Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our dynamic outpatient MSK service.

This role is central to delivering expert patient-centred care, improving access to advanced pathways, and shaping innovative models of community rehabilitation. You will work autonomously with complex MSK presentations, provide advanced input across our localities, and act as a role model for clinical excellence.

Alongside your clinical caseload, you will contribute to service development, lead audits and quality improvement projects, and provide mentorship and supervision to junior colleagues and students.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced MSK physiotherapy practice. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to innovation, patient-centred care, and bringing physiotherapy closer to home.

We are looking for a self-motivated, reflective, and resilient clinician who can demonstrate advanced skills, leadership, and a passion for service development.

We have a total of 64.5 hours to offer. Ideally this would be one full time post (37.5 hours per week) and one part time post (27 hours per week); however we will consider flexing these hours between the two posts. Both posts offer flexibility to work across community hospitals and outpatient clinics within the Trusts localities, with site allocation agreed based on service need and candidate preference.

Main

duties of the job

Independently assess, diagnose, and manage complex MSK patients using advanced clinical reasoning and make safe onward referrals. Deliver specialist MSK interventions including exercise prescription, manual therapy, education, rehab planning, and joint injections (if trained). Provide bookable escalation clinics for Band 5/6 clinicians and support their development through supervision and teaching. Contribute to service improvement, community rehab development, audits, and quality improvement projects while promoting high professional standards and evidence based practice.
