NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit a Generic Assistant Practitioner – Hospital postholder will work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals, undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters, and implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters. Duties may vary depending on the care group, department or assigned area of work.
Whatwe’ll need you to bring
Qualifications:
- HNC in healthcare, education or social care, or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care, or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
- Short specialist courses relevant to a specific clinical area.
- Full driving licence holder.
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
- Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and/or activities relevant to client group.
- Basic assessment skills.
- Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills.
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
- Full/valid driving licence is required to travel across Lanarkshire.
It would be great if you also have breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation/re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment.
Contract typePermanent
Part Time – 28.5 hours
Salary will be pro‑rata.
Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Hospital @ Home.
Working pattern: 3 over 7.
