The Role s

The Diagnostics Directorate is looking for Clerical Officers based primarily at Glasgow Royal Infirmary x‑ray department but will be required to cover Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill ACH & Glasgow Dental Hospital as required, therefore travel across the North Sector may be required in addition to other GGC imaging departments as per service needs.

Working Patterns Available
  • Monday to Sunday (1‑post – 37 hours per week full time):
    The shift pattern will vary and comprise of various shifts between 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday as per local requirements
  • Friday and Monday (2 posts – 14.8 hours per week):
    The shift pattern will be 2 days per week, strictly a Friday and a Monday, 8.45am to 5pm to meet service requirements.
  • Saturday and Sunday (2 posts – 24hrs per week):
    The shift pattern will be 2 days per week, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm to meet service requirements with job share being considered. Ideally, the post would be 12 hours per day (Saturday & Sunday) but we are open to attracting the ideal candidate should fewer hours/ job share be preferable. Should your circumstances require a job share, please advise what days and/ or shift pattern would be preferable on your application (Saturday 8am‑2pm or Saturday 2pm‑8pm and/ or Sunday 8am‑2pm or Sunday 2pm‑8pm).
  • Monday to Friday (2 posts – 20hrs per week):
    The shift pattern will be 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm to meet service requirements with job share being considered. Ideally, the post would be 5 evenings per week (Monday to Friday) but we are open to attracting the ideal candidate should fewer evenings/ job share be preferable. Should your circumstances require a job share, please advise what days would be preferable on your application.
  • Monday to Friday (1 post – 25hrs per week):
    The shift pattern will be 5 days per week, strictly a Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 5pm to meet service requirements.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient in the use of software systems, including Microsoft Office packages i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Previous clerical experience is desirable.
  • Good organisational and communication skills, including the ability to prioritise and work under pressure to tight timescales.
  • Flexible approach and an understanding of the principles of good teamwork.
  • Ability to work proactively on own initiative, flexibly and independently.
  • The ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff at all levels.
