Overview

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million.
RoleThe position is Medical Officer in the specialist community alcohol and drug treatment service based in South Glasgow. Medical Officers work either full‑ or part‑time in multidisciplinary community teams that focus holistically on the management of people with drug and alcohol problems.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and review patients’ drug and/or alcohol dependency and health needs.
- Provide substitute prescribing, detoxification and relapse‑prevention prescribing.
- Offer testing and treatment for Hepatitis C and HIV.
- Deliver treatment, care and support through integrated working between health and social services.
- Contribute to innovative service developments such as diamorphine‑assisted treatment, integrated Hepatitis C and HIV care pathways and community‑based rehabilitation and recovery supports.
Shift pattern: 24 hours. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours. This is a permanent, part‑time role with thorough induction, training, SPA time and continuing professional development. Flexible working arrangements may be available.
Salary£92,518 – £118,647 per annum.
