About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and conscientious Clinical Research Pharmacist to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist seeking a rewarding role away from the pressures of community pharmacy, where quality, patient safety and research excellence are the priority.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense and reconcile investigational medicinal products in accordance with study protocols.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and accountability records.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including stock control, temperature monitoring and expiry date management.
  • Ensure medications are stored securely and in accordance with sponsor and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Investigators, Research Nurses and Clinical Trial Coordinators to support the successful delivery of clinical studies.
  • Liaise professionally with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), sponsors and regulatory inspectors during monitoring visits and audits.
  • Participate in pharmacy quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain full compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), MHRA requirements and all relevant legislation.
  • Keep up to date with developments in pharmacy practice, clinical research and investigational medicines.

Qualifications

  • You will be a qualified Pharmacist with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to patient safety and research quality.

Required Skills

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Professional, reliable and committed to maintaining the highest standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience within a hospital pharmacy, aseptic services or clinical research environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Experience of investigational medicinal products (IMPs).
  • Experience working within regulated healthcare environments.
  • Previous clinical research experience is not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
