Dental Health Support Worker - Children and Families

Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa

• You will be based within Glasgow City HSCP
  - North East
• Working Pattern:
  Monday
  - Friday 08:30 - 16:30

• Provide practical oral health and infant nutrition support, advice and guidance to children, parents and carers
• Deliver home visits and community-based interventions to families requiring additional support in line with Childsmile protocols
• Support families to access dental, health and community services, including assisting vulnerable families to attend appointments when required
• Promote positive oral health behaviours through education, demonstration of tooth brushing techniques and distribution of oral health resources
• Build effective relationships with families and partner agencies including health, education and social care professionals
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information
• Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of Childsmile and local health improvement initiatives

• SVQ Level 3 in Health Care, working towards this qualification, or equivalent experience within a caring or support environment
• Experience of engaging with children, families or vulnerable individuals within health, social care or community settings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a wide range of people
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and respond appropriately to changing circumstances
  
  Full driving licence and willingness to travel across a variety of community settings where required
