An exciting opportunity has arisen to take a Speech and Language Therapy leadership role within Bairns’ Hoose. Bairns’ Hoose is a child-centred, trauma-informed, multi-agency service that supports children and young people through safeguarding and justice processes.
This role will be fully embedded within the Bairns’ Hoose pathway and offers a unique opportunity to lead and deliver a Test of Change focused on embedding communication-inclusive practice. You will play a key role in shaping how speech, language and communication differences are identified, understood and responded to, contributing to local improvement and national learning through safeguarding and justice processes.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated SLT to provide clinical, professional and strategic leadership. You will bring highly specialist expertise in supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication differences and trauma-related communication vulnerabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and taken seriously.
You will work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment, alongside colleagues from social work, police, health and the third sector. Key components of the role include specialist assessment and formulation, development of practical communication profiles and adaptations, workforce training and reflective learning, quality improvement activity, and leadership of the Bairns’ Hoose Test of Change.
It is essential that applicants hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, have current HCPC registration, and are members of RCSLT. The role involves working across locations including Bairns’ Hoose and partner agency settings.
