Experienced Personal Assistant – Supporting Gill to Stay Active, Independent and Connected
Meet Gill:
Gill is a friendly and sociable 62-year-old woman who enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors and keeping connected with family and friends.
During the summer, you will often find Gill tending to her allotment, while winter is spent as part of a local curling team. She also enjoys music, art, going to events and visiting galleries. In the evening, Gill likes to unwind with a good quiz show.
About the role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to support Gill with her daily routine, wellbeing and household tasks, helping her to continue living independently in her own home.
You will work alongside Gill's current Personal Assistant and will receive training and support to ensure you feel confident in all aspects of the role.
Duties will include:
- Wiping down the bathroom after use.
- General household tasks such as hoovering, dusting and emptying bins.
- Grocery shopping and other practical errands
- Monitor Gill's skin condition and report any concerns.
- Communicate effectively with District Nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Apply prescribed medications and treatments when required, following appropriate guidance and training.
- Maintain clear communication with Gill and her support team regarding any changes in her wellbeing.
About you:
- Gill is looking for a Female Personal Assistant who is friendly, reliable and easy going, with the confidence to support both her practical and health related needs.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Previous experience in a care, support, health or Personal Assistant role
- Ability to monitor wellbeing and follow prescribed treatment plans
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
- A reliable, trustworthy and professional approach
- Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to coordinate with Gill's existing PA to provide continuity of support, including holiday cover when required
- Experience supporting someone with Multiple Sclerosis
- Experience monitoring skin integrity and applying prescribed medications
Hours and pay:
The role is for 10 hours per week, worked across 5 weekdays. Additional hours may be available for household cleaning tasks. Exact days and times will be agreed at interview to establish a schedule that works for Gill and her support team.
The hourly rate is £13.60, and the role is based in the West End of Glasgow (G20).
