As a Pharmacy Dispenser, your duties may include:
Medication DispensingAssist qualified pharmacy staff with the accurate preparation, labelling and dispensing of prescriptions while following established procedures.
Stock Management- Check incoming medication deliveries.
- Ensure medicines are stored appropriately.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Help monitor stock levels and identify shortages.
Provide friendly and professional service to patients, answer straightforward enquiries and refer complex medical or medication-related questions to the qualified pharmacist.
Compliance and SafetyFollow relevant pharmacy regulations, health and safety requirements, confidentiality standards and professional procedures.
Administrative DutiesSupport the pharmacy with tasks such as:
- Processing transactions
- Data entry
- Maintaining patient and pharmacy records
- Filing documents
- Answering telephone enquiries
- General administrative support
Help maintain a clean, organised and efficient dispensing area while ensuring pharmacy procedures and quality standards are followed.
Skills and QualificationsCandidates should ideally have the following:
Pharmacy ExperienceAt least one year of pharmacy experience is required. A recognised dispensing qualification would be advantageous.
Attention to DetailThe role requires a high level of accuracy when handling prescriptions, medication labels, documentation and patient information.
Communication SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skills are important when dealing with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
OrganisationYou should be able to prioritise tasks, manage your time effectively and remain organised in a busy pharmacy environment.
IT SkillsCandidates should be comfortable using pharmacy management systems and standard office software. The pharmacy uses Analyst PMR systems
