Every day at Rainbow House in Glasgow we provide supported accommodation for people with substance misuse problems while they address their addiction. This means making sure that they can be themselves and always helping them to take charge of their own lives and live life to the full.

Contributing to the overall management of the service, you will also direct and deliver the therapeutic programme for clients. This will involve assessing new clients, developing programmes for each individual and ensuring the client is fully engaged in the programme throughout its delivery.

What do you need? An SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Health & Social Care is an advantage, along with an addictions qualification and/or a certificate in counselling. Main Function

To direct, deliver and control the therapeutic programme for clients and contribute to the good management of the service as a whole.

Main Duties
  • In rotation with your colleagues, assess new clients and make effective arrangements for admission
  • Ensure an individual therapeutic programme is developed for each new client which is specific to his history and assessed needs
  • Ensure the therapeutic team members delivering the programme are fully briefed on objectives and needs.
  • Ensure the client is kept fully engaged in the programme during its development and delivery.
  • Deliver key elements of the programme directly and participate regularly in the group activities.
  • Participate in training and educational activities provided to ensure your professional practice is maintained at the highest level
  • Ensure the quality of service delivered to your clients by support staff is of the highest quality
  • Under the direction of the Service Manager carry out those administrative and management task delegated.
  • Be aware of the key principles of Health & Safety in the workplace and Cross Reach's policies and procedures and ensure that they are adhered to by all staff.
  • To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with Cross Reach policy and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

Quality Assurance:

  • Regularly review the quality of service provided to your clients by all staff ensuring the central principles of the REBT programme are fully understood and applied professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure that appropriate Crossreach and recognised Care and Addiction Standards are known and understood by all staff working with your clients. In particular:
    • The values of integrity and impartiality in discharging our responsibility to our clients
    • The worth, rights and responsibilities of the individual
    • The promotion of independent choice and normal living
    • The protection of those who cannot protect themselves
    • The promotion of equality of opportunity
  • Ensure that suggestions and proposals from Care Commissioners, senior Crossreach staff and other appropriate professionals which are to the benefit of your clients are acted upon promptly.

Financial and Administrative Management

  • Ensure that records of each planned and unplanned therapeutic intervention are accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous, and in accordance with established Crossreach policy
  • Communications with internal resources and external agencies on matters relating to clients welfare and progress are prompt, accurate, confidential and recorded in the clients’ case file.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure the services' budgetary targets are attained

Training & Professional Education

  • In liaison with the Service Manager identify knowledge and skill deficits in existing practice and contribute to a remedial programme.
