The role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with an interest in nutrition, to join the West Quadrant Community Nutrition and Dietetic Team for 9 months to cover maternity leave. The post holder will deliver nutritional care to patients across a variety of settings, with the support of the community dietitians.

The post holder will also support the team to plan, deliver and evaluate nutrition training programmes and undertake administrative duties. Experience of working with the public, excellent communication, organisational and time management skills are essential.

It is important that the person can work to deadlines and enjoys being part of a team.

This post is based at Drumchapel Health Centre / Vale Centre for Health and Care. A UK driving license is essential

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Location based in Drumchapel Health Centre / Vale Centre for Health and Care as per service need
  • Fixed-term Contract for 9 months
  • Part-time position (19.5 hours per week)
  • Shift pattern for this post are 3 out of 7 days

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work, including direct and indirect patient care.
  • Be responsible for identifying their own appropriate levels of competency and unmet training needs, as identified through staff appraisal.
  • Set objectives in conjunction with the Dietetic Team Leader. This will allow the post holder to develop work consistent with the Dietetic Service.
  • Participate in the Employee Personal Development and Planning (PDP) and TURAS Appraisal in conjunction with the Dietetic Team Leader / Senior member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
  • Work with Community Dietitians to assess the nutritional needs of individuals.
  • Report regularly to and consult with the Dietetic Team Leader / Senior member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service at regular meetings, and by telephone/email.
  • Keep accurate records of all activities carried out, to report to the Dietetic Team Leader / Senior member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service and for audit/evaluation purposes.
