Position: Rehabilitation Assistant/Technical Instructor - Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a compassionate and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury. As part of a specialist interdisciplinary team, you will support individuals living with acquired brain injury to achieve meaningful goals within their homes and local communities.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
  • Full-time, Permanent
  • You will be based at The Centre for Integrative Care, Gartnavel Hospital
  • Working Pattern:
    Monday - Friday between 08:30 am - 16:30pm
Key responsibilities:
  • Support clients with acquired brain injury to achieve rehabilitation goals and maximise independence
  • Deliver delegated rehabilitation programmes in clients' homes, community settings and within the centre
  • Assist individuals with activities such as daily living skills, community access, travel management and confidence building
  • Observe, monitor and accurately report changes in clients' progress, wellbeing and functional abilities
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with colleagues, families and partner agencies
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation service as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Support wider service activities including administration, appointment management and data recording
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Relevant experience working with individuals in healthcare, rehabilitation, social care or community settings or SVQ Level III or equivalent qualification in Health Sciences
  • Experience supporting people to achieve goals, maximise independence and improve wellbeing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred care
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately observe and report client progress
  • Good organisational, literacy, numeracy and IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of professional conduct, risk awareness, health and safety principles and client confidentiality
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development with a current driving licence and willingness to work flexibly
