We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and driven Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly Warehouse / Vaccine Team at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) Pharmacy Distribution Centre (PDC) to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and automated environment at the heart of NHSGGC Pharmacy Services that supports the needs of patients across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Argyll & Bute (A&B).

The PDC is a modern, high-volume, and state-of-the-art facility responsible for the procurement and distribution of all medicines and vaccines across hospitals, clinics, and community pharmacies in the region including A&B in NHS Highland.

We have three key operational areas at the PDC:

• Unit F Warehouse
• Unit F Office Team, which includes the Purchasing and Homecare teams
• Unit C Vaccine Holding Centre

Within the warehouse, 10 automated robots support the accurate and efficient distribution of medicines, ensuring timely delivery to meet clinical need across all service areas.

As one of the largest automated hospital pharmacy projects in the UK, we use cutting-edge robotic systems to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in our service delivery.

Your role will be to ensure the seamless and compliant supply of pharmaceutical products from our network of suppliers in line with NHSGGC Policies and Standard financial Instructions (SFI). You will work Monday to Friday with varied shift patterns depending on area of work - 7am to 3pm, 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm and 10am to 6pm including whole week working and participate in weekend working and public holiday working.

• Work collaboratively within a team under supervision, adhering to departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and NHSGGC policies.
• Supply medicines to wards, theatres, departments, community areas, GP surgeries, Prisons, Police Custody, Highland and Island locations, and patient homes via Homecare service and via automated cabinets.
• Utilise computer systems and equipment necessary for service delivery, following a comprehensive training programme and validated induction process.
• Respond promptly to requests for medicines and support technical tasks, ensuring timely provision to wards and departments.
• Lead and participate in stock control, including robust investigation of discrepancies.
• Day to day management of warehouse activities, staff training and stock management including stock investigation and supporting all areas is a key part of this role.
• Receive goods into the department, update the stock management system, and comply with SOPs,
• An exemplary knowledge and appreciation for local policies and procedures as well as legislation in relation to Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Falsified Medicine Directive (FMD) in line with the PDC Wholesale Dealer’s License (WDA(H)) is a key requirement for this post.
