The Respiratory Unit are offering a fantastic opportunity to join our progressive and dynamic Acute Respiratory ward as a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.

As a team we are committed to providing high quality care to our patients. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our compassionate and driven team. You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about respiratory nursing showing commitment towards service improvement. You will work alongside the senior nursing team and Matron to provide strong clinical leadership to the ward facilitating the delivery of high quality, patient centered care.

Our award-winning Respiratory Department has been instrumental in caring for patients with complex respiratory conditions resulting in the development of a Respiratory High Care unit across the 8th Floor in line with the Trusts 'Fit for the Future' plans. As a team we are able to offer you excellent managerial support and are fully committed to your personal professional development.

Night/Days

Our successful Sister/ Charge Nurse will be able to work alongside the existing team in a leadership role to assist in the enhancement and development of Respiratory services, with a particular focus on the delivery of high-quality care within a busy and acute environment. You will be in charge of the clinical shift and dedicated to ensuring the planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of care embedding the Trusts behaviours and values.

Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well a passion for improvement and be committed to the development of your team. You will need to be calm and resilient with the ability to deal with challenging situations ensuring you are able to provide support to junior members of the team and maintain patient safety. Successful candidates will actively assist and support the ward manager to ensure the effective management of the ward and deputise in their absence.

You must be flexible in being able to work as part of a 24-hour service.

The Respiratory Unit is a a 56 Bedded mix-sexed Respiratory Ward. We work closely together as part of a multidisciplinary team and strive to deliver a high standard of care to patients and their families.
