Wellbeing Lead – Whittle Hall

At Whittle Hall, we believe that life in a care home should be filled with purpose, meaningful experiences and moments of joy.

We are a specialist Dementia care home, providing dedicated Dementia nursing care and Dementia nursing care for residents who may present with challenging behaviours. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Well-being Lead to join our team.

As our Well-being Lead, you will play an important role in creating and delivering meaningful activities and experiences that promote the well-being, independence, dignity and quality of life of our residents.

You will work closely with our residents, care and nursing teams to understand individual interests, life histories, abilities and preferences, ensuring activities are person-centred and meaningful.

Activities may include arts and crafts, music and singing, reminiscence sessions, sensory activities, games, gentle exercise, gardening, social events, celebrations and activities based around residents’ previous interests and hobbies.

You will also encourage residents to participate in everyday activities and help create a warm, stimulating and engaging environment throughout Whittle Hall.

• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities.
• Develop activities around individual residents’ interests, abilities, life stories and preferences.
• Encourage residents to participate while respecting their choices and independence.
• Use Dementia-friendly approaches to support engagement and communication.
• Provide stimulating sensory, cognitive, physical and social activities.
• Support residents who may have more complex needs or challenging behaviours to engage safely and positively.
• Work alongside the care and nursing teams to ensure activities complement individual care plans.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Organise special events, celebrations and seasonal activities.
• Encourage community involvement and opportunities for residents to remain connected with the wider community.
• Record and monitor participation and engagement where required.
• Ensure activities are delivered safely, inclusively and with dignity at all times.

We are looking for someone who is creative, compassionate, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about improving the lives of people living with Dementia.

You will ideally have experience working with people living with Dementia or within a care setting, although we are particularly interested in finding someone with the right attitude, personality and commitment to person-centred care.

You will need to be:

• Warm, friendly and approachable.
• Patient and understanding.
• Creative and full of ideas.
• Confident in engaging with people with different levels of ability and communication.
• Comfortable supporting residents who may display challenging behaviours.
• Organised and able to plan and coordinate activities.
• A good communicator and team player.
• Flexible and willing to work 40 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
• Passionate about helping residents live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
