The role:

You will support the nursing team to deliver safe and effective patient care within a community setting, mainly without direct supervision. The role will involve a varied daily workload, undertaking a range of delegated nursing activities.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent post working full-time hours (36)
The post is based within a community setting, working within East Dunbartonshire HSCP
The role involves 5 shifts per week over 7 days, including day shifts and back shifts.

Key responsibilities:

You will support the nursing team in delivering effective patient care within a community setting, working mainly without direct supervision. You will undertake a varied workload of delegated nursing activities, including assisting with personal hygiene and toileting, medication administration, specimen collection, wound care and supporting patients with palliative or complex care needs.

You will also support community clinics, stock control, record keeping, emergency situations and the induction of new staff, while maintaining patient confidentiality, attending training, following local policies and procedures, and contributing to audits and multidisciplinary working. You will provide compassionate support to patients, families and carers, helping them to achieve their optimum health and independence.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent experience
Ability to work with people and as part of a team
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Full drivers licence
