Dispenser​/Patient Services Advisor

To ensure the provision of professional and efficient service to the patients of Lakeside Healthcare Brigstock attending the Dispensary.

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants will be required to demonstrate their right to work in the UK at interview.

Please note this is a part time role offering 25 hours per week.

About the Practice/Department/Team

The dispensing team consists of 3 dispensers, in asmall but bust dispensary. The team workswell to ensure patients prescriptions are delivered in a timely manner adhering to all our protocols to ensure safe prescribing.

Working in a small part time surgery in a rural location.

• All medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription
• To collect all due prescription charges
• To endorse all prescription forms as appropriate
• Receiving patients and consulting with members of the practice team
• Handing completed repeat prescriptions to the patient and checking names and address
• Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
• Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
• Process appointment requests from patients for on the day and future appointments by telephone and in person
• Deal with visit requests
• Registration of new patients computer data entry and medical records
• Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of Practice area
• Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines
• Clear consulting rooms after surgeries of patient paperwork
• Restocking of consulting rooms of stationary
• Ensure building security having thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
• Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Director/ Reception Team Leader dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.

• Good standard of education
• NVQ2 Dispensing

• Experience of working as a Dispenser within a GP Surgery
• Experience of working in a busy &multi-functional team
• Knowledge of using Systm One (Clinical database)
• A minimum of three years' experience in a customer facing environment
• Experience of handling confidential information and data.
