Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in people’s lives? At the Dick Stewart Service, we provide supported accommodation for male ex-offenders, helping them transition successfully back into the community following a period in custody.
As a Relief Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting residents to develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to move forward with their lives. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide practical and emotional support, encouraging individuals to achieve their personal goals and engage positively with their local community.
You will assist residents with day-to-day tasks such as budgeting, meal preparation, self-care, household management, and accessing community resources and appointments. You will also support the delivery of individual support plans, maintain accurate records, and work alongside colleagues and partner agencies to ensure residents receive the support they need.
This is a flexible, bank-based role where shifts are offered as required to meet the needs of the service. Shifts may include daytime, evening, weekend, and sleepover work, ensuring continuous support is available for residents.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and person-centred approach, and the ability to build positive professional relationships. An understanding of the challenges faced by individuals involved in the criminal justice system, together with patience, resilience, and a commitment to promoting independence, will help you succeed in this rewarding role.
