The Marine HR Department

Our department ensures a skilled workforce, coordinating all aspects of personnel hired, paid, appointed and released at client worksites, aligned with our Quality Management System, work processes and client requirements.

What You Will Do

Oversee all aspects of sea staff employment, payroll, travel, compliance and crew management for company vessels, ensuring Safe Manning, STCW and Flag Certification requirements are met within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all personnel‑related matters for vessels under your responsibility.
• Ensure vessels are manned by qualified personnel per Safe Manning, STCW and Flag Certification requirements.
• Follow document and recruitment procedures set out in the Marine HR Manual.
• Provide company/client policies & procedures briefings to newly recruited and promoted personnel.
• Issue MLC Employment Agreements for sea staff.
• Monitor employee documentation to maintain compliance.
• Arrange visas and travel in cost‑effective, timely manner in line with company/client travel policies.
• Program, arrange and advise on all sea staff travel details and relay relief intentions to ships.
• Liaise with clients, technical managers and overseas manning agents as instructed.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date crew lists reflecting crew changes.
• Input and update crewing system and personnel files for payroll purposes.
• Process payrolls within deadlines, coordinating with Accounts for timely payments.
• Collate performance appraisal reports and highlight training needs.
• Inform Assistant General Manager of any significant manning issues.
• Provide information for P&I claims.
• Attend meetings as required, including ship visits.
• Assist Assistant General Manager with crew budget preparation and monthly reporting.
• Be on out‑of‑hours call for emergency welfare issues involving seafarers.
• Review and provide feedback on improvements to the Marine HR Manual.
• Promote compliance with the company’s Safety and Environmental Policy and any other duties reasonably required by management.

What We Are Looking For

We are recruiting for two vacancies. Candidates should meet the following general requirements:

Position 1 – Shipping / Oil & Gas

• At least 3 years recruiting and managing crew in the shipping industry.
• Knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry.
• At least 3 years in recruiting and managing crew in the cruise industry.
• Knowledge of cruise operations and industry standards.
